A MERSEYSIDE woman has told how she stabbed a mother-of-two to death.
Louise Gardner admitted repeatedly knifing Rachel Jones, but told jurors she had “lost all control”.
Gardner, of Mallow Road, Kensington, denies murder on the grounds of provocation.
Mother-of-one Gardner, 26, told Liverpool Crown Court she had gone looking for Ms Jones in retaliation for smashing her window, and admitted that she knew they were going “to have a fight”.
When she caught up with her on Woodville Terrace, Anfield, on March 14, she said Ms Jones was goading her, shouting “come on then” and laughing at her.
Gardner claimed it was Ms Jones who produced a knife, but dropped it so she picked it up. Gardner said: “That is when the madness just happened.”
But Stuart Driver, QC, prosecuting, claimed Gardner had “learnt the law over provocation.”
He said to her: “You have invented this story to get away with murder.”
Gardner responded: “It’s not a story. I never felt like that before, so how could I have lied about it.”
The case continues.
