Wirral company MD wins key UKIP position

A WIRRAL businessman has been elected to the UK Independence Party’s National Executive Committee.

Phil Griffiths, who has fought for both Parliamentary and council seats on the Wirral, was one of six new members elected following a nationwide vote.

The election follows the recent appointment of Mr Griffiths as Parliamentary candidate for the Wirral West seat, currently occupied by Labour MP Stephen Hesford.

Communications company managing director Mr Griffiths said he believed the three principal UK political parties had let down the electorate.

He added: “This has resulted in erosion of our liberties and freedoms, and we are now subservient to the unelected commissioners in Brussels.Š Our politicians have become treacherous.”
