Liverpool's World Museum staff's daring rescue mission - to save Harvey the teddy

WORLD Museum staff undertook a daring rescue mission – to save a teddy called Harvey.

The bear made an unscheduled trip after his owner, seven-year-old Patrick Snow, playfully swung him into the air.

Harvey landed on top of a high display cabinet, where his young owner was unable to reach him.

Jeff Atkinson, a museum electrician, used a hydraulic lift – usually used for maintenance work – to rescue Harvey.

He was reunited with Patrick, of Childwall, on Monday after a week-long sojourn at the museum.

A World Museum spokesperson said Patrick was “overjoyed” to be reunited with his bear.

World Museum Liverpool reopened in 2005 in its original William Brown Street building.

It is currently home to the Beat Goes On display.
