Microsoft chief bans Apple gadgets from family home

MICROSOFT founder Bill Gates has banned his children from using gadgets made by rival Apple, the billionaire’s wife has revealed.

In an interview with a woman’s magazine, Melinda Gates said iPods and other products were barred from the family home.

But the billionaire’s wife did dissent from the company line briefly, stating that she “wouldn’t mind” one of Apple’s iPhones.

Melinda and Bill Gates live with their three children – daughters Jennifer and Phoebe and son Rory – in the family mansion overlooking Lake Washington.

But despite being among the richest kids in town, the Gates children have to do without items others take for granted.
