Seats from Kop used as Liverpool ready to sell itself to the world at MIPIM 2009

TWO seats from Liverpool FC’s Kop will form part of the city’s new stand at the world’s biggest property fair, which starts next week.

City leaders hope the new and improved stand that features props from some of Liverpool’s most famous attractions will help woo investors to the city.

It comes as the organisers of MIPIM (Marché International des Professionels d’Immobilier) have announced this year’s fair will see around a third fewer individuals attending than last year.

So far, only 18,000 have registered to attend the event in Cannes, in the French Riviera, down by 11,000 on the 29,000 in 2008.

Liverpool’s presence has also been scaled down, but many attending this year believe it is even more vital to be at the fair while the world is in the grip of a recession.

This year, Liverpool’s stand, located again in the Riviera Hall (R27.18) features an improved layout.

The city will also be serving a special blend of Liverpool coffee.
