Former bus driver from Wirral jailed for drug dealing

A FORMER bus driver caught with nearly 1kg of amphetamine sunk to his knees in the dock as he was jailed.

When officers raided Jamie Nicol’s home at Royden Road, Wirral, they discovered 819 Ecstasy pills and more than 18g of cocaine, as well as the stash of the Class B drug. The 35-year-old later admitted four charges of possessing drugs with intent to supply, but insisted he was only selling to friends and associates who were already addicted.

But he was overcome with emotion as he was jailed for 3½ years by Judge David Aubrey, QC, yesterday. The judge told him: “Not only was there commercial supply, but it cannot go un-noticed that when police searched your premises not only did they find drug paraphernalia, but also co-caine, Ecstasy tablets, am-phetamine and cannabis.”

Gerald Pachter, defending, told the court Nicol had not profited.

Nicol’s partner Diana Reynolds, 30, also of Royden Road, was given a commu-nity order with 12 months supervision and ordered to do 180 hours’ unpaid work after she admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
