A SWATHE of Hollyoaks stars could be facing the axe as part of a massive soap shake up.
Some of the show’s favourites like sultry Jennifer Metcalfe and Gemma Merna, who play Mercedes and Carmel McQueen, could see their characters ousted.
It is understood 10 characters will go but the show’s management have not revealed who will be levered out yet.
It means show stalwarts like Nick Pickard, who plays Tony Hutchinson, could be on their way out.
Jamie Lomas – who plays Warren Fox – and last year’s Dancing On Ice runner-up Chris Fountain, who stars as Justin Burton, have already announced they are quitting the show next month.
The cull will go on from April to October.
