A LIVERPOOL university is toasting an overseas success in the United Arab Emirates.
Hope University is behind the triumph – thanks to a growing masters degree programme it is conducting in Abu Dhabi.
In 2007 the university began offering the masters in education provision in the city – the second most populous in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
And last night Dr Paul Rafferty, based at the university’s education deanery who manages the UAE programme, revealed the course had proved such a success the number of students enrolling will have tripled to 90 in September.
It has managed a 98% retention with participants ranging from Emirates nationals to past Hope teaching students now carving careers working in Dubai schools.
Based at the internationally renowned The British School – Al Khubairat, the postgraduate is designed to provide continuing professional development to those already working in the area’s education sector.
The course sees Hope lecturers flying over for intensive long weekend sessions every term.
