Research shows that ‘thirtysomethings’ are not afraid to make a career change, despite family and mortgage commitments

PEOPLE in their thirties are not being put off drastic career changes despite the pressures of mortgage payments and starting a family, research shows.

Thirty two is seen as the best age to start in a new profession, and the recession further encouraged workers to change direction.

This is despite the early thirties being the average age for getting married, having a first child and buying a house.

Insurance and pension company Friends Provident commissioned the poll of 2,511 adults which showed that nearly a quarter of “thirtysomethings” had no future plans.
