Terror warning campaign launched

AN ANTI-TERROR campaign warning people “don’t rely on others – if you suspect it, report it” is launched today.

The North West Counter Terrorism Unit is supporting the national launch, with the message highlighted across Greater Manchester together with the Anti-Terrorist Hotline number 0800 789321 on large posters, as well as local radio advertising.

For the first time the message will also be promoted to Manchester Airport visitors, at hair salons, petrol stations, supermarkets, and in bar and pub toilets.

Det Ch Supt Tony Porter, head of the North West CTU, said: “We can all play our part in protecting our communities and reporting any suspicious activity.”

Cards, postcards and leaflets showing the hotline are to be distributed.
