A FAMILY man who was caught with more than 900 obscene images of children has been spared prison.
Police found pornographic photographs of the most severe category when they raided the home of father-of-two David Williams.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Williams’s life had been a nightmare since his arrest in September, 2005.
But Judge Robert Warnock told him: “That nightmare pales into insignificance to the nightmare suffered by the children put through those indignities for your sexual gratification.”
The judge suspended a 40-week prison sentence for two years, after learning Williams had fully co-operated with police, accepted he had an addiction and undergone counselling.
Stuart Mills, defending, said when police arrested Williams, on September 15, 2005, he told them: “I’m actually glad this is out in the open.”
