Liverpool's King David primary school refutes goverment accusations of “maladministration”

A LIVERPOOL primary school last night refused to recognise a scathing local government ombudsman report after failing to offer a girl a place.

King David primary, near Childwall, finds itself publicly criticised for a second time by the education watchdog which has branded its refusal to offer a four- year-old a place "maladministration" and an "injustice."

Last year, the Jewish primary was accused of having a "flawed" admissions policy by the ombudsman after the pupil’s father made a complaint.

The local government ombudsman said it failed to be "objective, clear and fair" in the way it selects children and should offer the rejected non-Jewish pupil, Charlotte Roberts, from Old Swan, a place or give her father, Mike, £250 compensation.

The watchdog also said the school should better explain reasons for refusal.

And, in a fresh attack, the ombudsman has criticised what it calls the school’s failure to "remedy the maladministration".
