Everton fans warned off ‘immoral’ ticket tout sites

Everton fans queue for tickets at Goodison

TOUTS advertising tickets for Everton’s FA Cup semi final tie were branded “immoral” last night.

The tickets are being sold at hugely inflated prices – some up to 13 times their face value.

There are fears it could mean genuine fans are being priced out of the market.

Everton FC started selling legitimate tickets at 8am yesterday. The most loyal fans were given priority, with only season ticket holders who had been to 13 or more cup and league away games this year qualifying.

The cheapest tickets are £24.50, rising to £53.80.

But RedCircleTickets.com is advertising Everton seats from £225. “Longside” tickets in the Merseyside fans’ section are £295.

And 1st4FootballTickets.com is selling seats behind the goal for £325 and sideline tickets for £390.

Both the Football Association (FA) and Everton FC last night warned fans against buying tickets from the sites.

A club spokesman said: “I would urge our supporters not to buy from unofficial sites. That’s the only way they can be certain of getting legitimate tickets.

“If they go through agencies, they run the risk of parting with cash and not getting a ticket.”

It remains a mystery where the touts source their tickets.

Everton and Manchester United were allocated 32,000 Wembley tickets each.

Of the remaining 26,000, the FA gave 17,000 to Club Wembley and 9,000 to the “football family”, which includes sponsors, partners, the FA council and representatives from associated leagues.

All sides deny the websites’ tickets have come from them.

Red Circle and 1st4 Football Tickets both refused to say where they got them from. Neither would comment on the issue.
