A MASKED gang is thought to be behind a spate of social club burglaries.
A balaclava-clad gang of three broke into the Sacred Heart social club in Briery Hey Avenue, Kirkby, and stole a substantial amount of cash at about 5am on Sunday.
The raid came after three men broke into St Peter and Paul's social club in Domingo Drive, Kirkby, on Monday, March 16 shortly before 7am, making off with bottles of spirits.
The offenders are described as white men in their late teens or early 20s, around 6ft tall, wearing dark clothing.
