STUDENT MMR vaccination clinics are to be held in the University of Liverpool later today and tomorrow, following a mumps outbreak.
During the last two weeks, 27 students at the university have developed the disease and John Moores University (JMU) has seen six cases.
JMU is also planning to put on MMR vaccination sessions.
The additional clinics will be held today from 5pm until 7pm, in Carnatic Halls of Residence, and tomorrow from noon until 2pm, in Student Health at the main university campus.
Dr Roberto Vivancos, Consultant in Communicable Disease Control, said: “The problem is that we have a large pool of teenagers and young adults who missed out on MMR vaccination when they were toddlers.”
