John Lennon bed-in recreated in Liverpool's Hard Day's Night Hotel

JOHN LENNON and Yoko Ono look-alikes have helped to recreate the couple’s bed-in on the 40th anniversary of their famous peaceful protest. Beatles fans Alistair and Samantha Trew posed in the Lennon suite of the Hard Day’s Night Hotel to celebrate one of the most significant moments of Lennon’s career.

Hotel sales manager Neil Sankey said: “The image of Lennon and Ono in bed during their protest will be recognisable to a lot of people, but they probably won’t know the story behind it.”

The original picture was taken in the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel when Lennon and Ono invited the press into their room to talk about peace during their honeymoon. The couple spent a week in their hotel bed protesting against the Vietnam War on March 25-31, 1969.

Lennon look-alike Alistair Trew said: “We’re delighted to be involved in recreating such an iconic image and an event that was so significant to John Lennon’s life.”

The married couple, from Worthing, in Sussex, discovered their likeness for Lennon and Ono after going to a fancy dress party as the 60s couple.
