Perfect Day song released for Rhys Jones

A SONG dedicated to murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones was launched at Liverpool’s Newz bar.

The track, Perfect Day, was performed by singer and former LIPA student Beverley-Anne Keenan last night.

Proceeds from the sale of the disc will go to the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund and will contribute to building a community centre in the 11-year-old’s name.

The CD also features a version of Perfect Day by hip hop duo SSN and recordings of three moving poems written by Rhys’s dad Stephen Jones.

Beverley-Anne from Norris Green said: “It’s important we encourage all young people of Rhys’s age to be out there, happily playing sports.

“I feel honoured one of my songs will be used in honour of the life of Rhys Jones. If the song can raise funds for the appeal it will be great, and will be a lasting memory of a boy few of us knew, but would have loved to have known.”
