MEXICAN president Felipe Calderon received a ceremonial welcome full of pomp and pageantry as he began a state visit to Britain.
The Queen greeted the Mexican leader and his wife in historic Horseguards Parade at the start of their four-day stay aimed at strengthening ties between the UK and the Latin American country.
The president arrived at Heathrow yesterday and later this week will take his place at the G20 summit, take part in a series of events and meetings, and will also hold separate talks with Prime Minister Gordon Brown and opposition leaders.
