Victorian painting of Robin Hood and Maid marian could be worth thousands

A VICTORIAN painting found in the broom cupboard of a working men’s club could fetch thousands of pounds at auction.

The oil, depicting Robin Hood and Maid Marian, was found during a spring clean at the unnamed Sussex club.

It is the work of Thomas Frank Heaphy, an English artist, and Bonhams estimate it is worth £5,000 - £7,000.
