A BLAZE at a school in Wirral is being treated as arson.
The fire spread to three classrooms at the former Park Primary School, in Woodstock Road, Wallasey.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were called to the scene just after 8pm on Wednesday after smoke and flames were seen coming from the single-storey building, which is due to be demolished.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said it was “99% certain” the fire was started deliberately.
Spokesman Peter Owens said: “We are certain it was a deliberate act because there was no other means of a fire being started accidentally.”
