ONE of the twins born prematurely to Merseyside teenage parents Sammii Humphries and Daniel Sargent has died.
Last night, the two grandmothers of Ryan Sargent paid tribute to their grandson who passed away last week.
Janet Gilbert and Sharon Sargent said Ryan’s parents Sammii, 15, and Daniel, 16, were distraught after the six-month-old boy “gave up his fight for life.”
In February, the Daily Post reported on Sammii and Daniel, who became parents at the age of 15, with Sammii giving birth three months early to the twins who developed breathing difficulties.
Ryan’s brother, Liam, was allowed home at the end of February after spending four months in hospital.
Ms Gilbert said: “I’m still in shock. We were all with him last Sunday and he looked a lot better. I was telling him we would be taking him home soon.”
Ryan’s coffin will be at Holy Trinity Church, Southport, from 10am until 1pm tomorrow
