SIX people have been injured in a crash on the M6 northbound near Orrell.
A heavy goods vehicle hit a number of other HGVs and cars in the accident between Junctions 26 and 27, close to the junction with the M58 at around 11.40pm on Wednesday.
A 62-year-old man from Lancashire suffered multiple injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
