Concorde goes on special display

CONCORDE went on show at the National Museum of Flight in Scotland yesterday.

The £2m investment marks the latest stage of development at the museum.

The opening coincides with the 40th anniversary of the first Concorde test flight from Filton to RAF Fairford, in Gloucestershire.

But another Concorde could be on the way out of the UK. A Dubai-based consortium is understood to want to buy the BA Concorde which is at Heathrow airport.

This particular Concorde, one of seven which BA operated until the supersonic aircraft ceased service in 2003, was in a prominent position at Heathrow for some time, but is now at BA’s engineering base at the eastern end of the airport.
