A CABIN crew boss was forced to employ only young, slim and single women to crew its private charter aircraft, a tribunal heard yesterday.
Alexandria Proud was also told not to hire men as flight attendants because of the gay stereotype.
The 35-year-old, from London, earned £39,900 as director of cabin services for Gama Aviation Ltd, but was claiming unfair constructive dismissal after a series of events.
Grant Goodlad, representing Miss Proud, said one of the claims was that she was forced to discriminate when recruiting cabin staff on grounds of sex, marital status and age.
Gama Aviation, which describes itself as a “first-class operation” and a “global leader in business aviation”, denies any such breach of contract.
Miss Proud said that Gama’s CEO, Marwan Khalek, vetted cabin crew candidates especially for the top- end, privately-owned aircraft.
One such owner, Alireza Ittehedeh, insisted on physically inspecting the candidates himself.
“The successful candidate would be female, physically attractive, aged 18 to 30, single and no larger than a Size 12,” said Miss Proud.
