A FRIEND of two Liverpool students arrested in raids on suspected terrorists is to set up a petition calling for their release.
The Nigerian student, who only gave his name as Jamil, said Janas Khan, 25, and Mohammad Ramzan, 25, attended business management lectures with him at Liverpool Hope University.
He said the pair were innocent and had been caught up in the raids, in which 12 were arrested, because they had broken the terms of their visas.
Police are still searching two addresses in Cedar Grove, two in Highgate Street, and one in Earle Road.
Jamil said he was confident that the pair would be proved innocent.
