A LIVERPOOL nurse who carried out secret filming to reveal the neglect of elderly patients on a hospital ward has been found guilty of misconduct.
Margaret Haywood, 58, from Everton, will be told her punishment today.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council ruled that she had prioritised the filming of the BBC Panorama programme and not fulfilled her obligations as a nurse.
Ms Haywood has admitted breaching patient confidentiality.
The producer of the programme, Elizabeth Bloor, had told the panel that “there was an over- arching public interest” in the broadcast and the nurse’s actions were justified.
