ALL primary care trusts in Merseyside have now met a GP extended hours target.
Latest Department of Health figures for March show Liverpool PCT has achieved the highest rate in the region, with 75.8% of practices opening into the evening or on weekends.
In Sefton, 61.8% of practices were on board, in Knowsley 51.7% and Wirral 65.6%.
The Government set a 50% target last year and stipulated all local authorities much reach it by January after public frustration with out-of-hours care.
Nationally, 99.3% of commissioners have met the target and 45.4% have 75% or more of their practices now offering extended hours at their surgeries.
