Military hero’s medal joy

A FORMER serviceman has spoken of his delight at being reunited with his medals, stolen 18 years, ago after they turned up on Ebay.

Graeme Olley’s precious trio of medals were taken from his home in Saltwood, near Hythe, Kent, alongside china and silverware during a burglary in May 1991.

The 78-year-old, who served with the Royal Engineers, lost hope of ever finding the medals until his stepson Simon Hathaway, 48, a former Metropolitan police officer from Weston-super-Mare, discovered them while surfing the internet auction site.
