SKATEBOARDERS have today got the run of a spruced-up skate park, thanks to youngsters from Eastham.
Young people from the Eastham area have spent two days helping to clean and refurbish the skate park at Mill Park Drive.
The initiative was thought up by Constable Glen Jones, from the Eastham Dedicated Policing team, who worked with the local community to provide activities for young people after receiving complaints about behaviour at the skate park.
Constable Jones said: “I wanted to give the young people who use the skate park an opportunity to work together to refurbish the park.
“Working together with the Wirral Youth Services, we were fortunate to get help from a local painting contractors who supplied all the paint, equipment and also staff to complete the refurbishment of the jump ramps.”
