Antony Goemley gives you chance to be living art work in Trafalgar Square

APPLICATIONS open today for members of the public to become living works of art on the vacant fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.

The One & Other project, created by artist Antony Gormley, will see a different person occupy the plinth every hour, 24 hours a day.

Participants will be allowed to do whatever they like on the plinth – as long as they do not break the law – and, at the work’s launch in February, Gormley said he expected some people would act quite outrageously.

Applications can be made from 5pm today on the website www.oneandother.co.uk, and participants will be chosen by computer algorithm in four phases, starting on June 1.

The different regions of the UK will be represented proportionally, with 227 from the North West of England.
