A COUPLE from Cheshire who set up and ran an international fake ID factory from their home were jailed yesterday.
Adrian Holmes and Lucy Sanders, of Lymm, ran their illegal business through a website www.uwantid.com and targeted youngsters desperate to flout drinking laws.
The pair – who made an estimated £300,000 in two years – even had orders from as far afield as Dubai, Pakistan, Austria, Japan, Singapore and Nigeria.
But it was in Britain where they did most of their business – winning praise from under-age drinkers for “absolutely fantastic” cards that “never failed”.
Such testimonials were posted by Holmes, 32, on the website to attract more customers for his highly sophisticated cards which had holograms, chips, signatures, ID numbers and came in different languages.
The fake IDs came in the form of driving licences, driving permits, European driving permits, international driving permits as well as national and UK identity cards.
All customers needed to do was email their photograph, date of birth, signature and pay £20.
