Family law plans under fire

THE Law Society criticised as “unacceptable” proposals from the Legal Services Commission (LSC) for publicly-funded family law work, and put forward alternative proposals in its consultation response.

It argued family lawyers providing legal aid services will be left “out of pocket” by a fixed fee scheme for private law family work and the harmonised advocacy scheme proposed by the LSC.
