Investigation into ‘airline co-operation’

THE European Commission has launched two investigations into “extensive” levels of co-operation between seven transatlantic airlines. The move follows concerns that planned arrangements for joint management of schedules, pricing and revenue-sharing could breach restrictive business rules.

One inquiry involves proposed agreements between BA, Iberia and American Airlines.

The other is into Air Canada, Continental, United and Lufthansa.
