UNION negotiators trying to save up to 170 jobs at United Biscuits’ (UB) have said the gloves are off after being stonewalled by executives.
It is believed UB, who make Jacob’s Crackers, Hula Hoops, and McVitie’s, are axing the jobs from the finance department in Binns Road, Wavertree and will outsource jobs to India.
Debbie Brannan of Unite said: “They’re still not sharing information that would allow us to help.
“Once it goes to a board meeting at the end of the month, the feeling is a decision will have been made.”
