Head-on crash killed five

A MAN killed with four other people in a head-on motorway crash was travelling in the wrong direction after turning at roadworks, an inquest has heard.

Mariusz Marcin Adamski, 24, turned his VW Passat around as he approached the works on the M1 and headed north on the southbound carriageway, Bedford Coroner’s Court was told.

Moments later, close to Junction 11, near Luton, his car hit a Jaguar containing four members of the same family.

Mr Adamski, a lorry driver living in Stowe Close, Leicester, was confirmed dead, along with Jaguar driver Lakhdip Nagra, 27, his sister Navjit Nagra, 28, Inderjit Nagra, 48, and Chain Singh, 66.
