A PAINTING by Pablo Picasso of his daughter, Maya, went on show last night, ahead of auction, when it is estimated to fetch up to $24m.
The painting, La fille de l’artiste a deux ans et demi avec un bateau, is a star of Sotheby’s London exhibition for its forthcoming major sale of Impressionist and Modern Art in New York on May 5.
The display, which runs until Saturday at Sotheby’s New Bond Street, marks the painting’s first-ever exhibition in London.
