Shooting suspect remains at large

THE man wanted for shooting two victims in a leisure centre car park is still at large.

Police yesterday made another plea for witnesses to come forward.

Two men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. One of them is still receiving treatment.

They were shot in the car park of the Prescot Leisure Centre, Warrington Road, Prescot, at around 9pm on Thursday, April 16.

The lone offender is described as between 5ft 9in and 6ft tall and was wearing a hooded blue/grey coloured hooded top and dark track-suit bottoms.

He had his face covered and is believed to have run away across wasteland to the back of the leisure centre.

Detective Inspector Andy Large said: “I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the leisure centre car park and who is able to provide information about the offender.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have any information or saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact the Guncrime Hotline on 0800 458 1211 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
