A MERSEYSIDE Euro- MP is fighting for clear rules to protect patients and the NHS.
Arlene McCarthy MEP has proposed amendments to a controversial new EU law about cross border healthcare to ensure doctors and nurses working across Europe are properly regulated.
Labour’s Ms McCarthy said: “Ensuring patient safety is top of our list of priorities when it comes to healthcare.
“Health professionals and patients cross European borders. We need to ensure there is proper regulation in place to guarantee a high standard of patient care and safety.”
Euro MPs will vote on the healthcare law when it is debated in Strasbourg this week.
