DAYS of sunshine and warmth have seen colour blossom on the Daily Post’s Flickr photosharing site. Heavy seas and thick skies made moody through judicious use of clever processing techniques have been balanced with ever-more shots of burgeoning nature.
Twitcher and blogger par excellence Simon Glinn regularly uploads his crystal clear shots of birds spotted across Merseyside.
This week he caught sight of a kestrel during a visit to Marshside RSPB coastal reserve.
He said: “The resident kestrel poses for me very readily. I think he has one eye on Django my dog as a likely snack.
“The midges had similar thoughts about me.”
This is just one of a stream of shots that he also exhibits on www.throughaglassdarklyblog.com.
Meanwhile, Sarah Bush, who contributes to the site as the grandly titled Lady Bracknell got into the spirit of spring with her cherry blossom shot at Sefton Park. Ms Bush specialises in close-ups capturing the detail in everyday scenes that others might miss or not notice as they gaze at the overall picture.
The shot reveals crinkles in the newly-opened flowers.
Back up in Southport, Steve Evans, whose Flickr name is Coulportste, took a tour of the Botanical Gardens with his Nikon D60 to spectacular effect.
Each framed example screams with colour and his series of pictures contributed over several days to our site combines landscape compositions through to details.
These orange tulips have won wide acclaim from fellow Flickr users.
