TWO talented French biochemistry students were tortured and murdered in an “orgy of blood-letting” after a burglary went wrong, a court has heard.
Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, both 23, were stabbed repeatedly in a ferocious and “sadistic” attack lasting nearly three hours, the Old Bailey was told.
Dano Sonnex, 23, and Nigel Farmer, 34, carried out the crime of “unmiti-gated evil” said Crispin Aylett, QC, prosecuting. They later torched the bedsit where it happened, leaving firefighters to discover a scene of “almost unimaginable horror”, it was alleged.
Jurors asked for a break in proceedings after being shown distressing pictures of the half-naked victims and illustrations of their more than 200 injuries.
The pair had burst in demanding the students’ bank cards. But the cash machine swallowed it and they returned for revenge.
The case continues.
