A WEEPING grandmother was jailed for six months for swindling more than £37,000 in benefits.
For more than five years, Margaret Palmer, 52, cheated the system by telling the authorities she was living alone.
But Liverpool Crown Court heard the mother-of-two and grandmother-of- eight was sharing her home with her partner, who was in work.
Palmer, of Stockton Wood Road, Speke, was claiming more than £7,000 every year in income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit and was overpaid a total of £37,902.
Palmer admitted three counts of dishonestly obtaining benefits between August, 2002, and November, 2007.
