A FIRE at an unoccupied body repair shop, in Aintree, caused huge amounts of smoke to cover the area.
A 250-metre exclusion zone was set up around the incident after the discovery of a suspected acetylene gas cylinder. Fire crews were called to the scene at the industrial estate, on Hanson Road, at around 5.30pm yesterday afternoon.
It is believed that a quantity of rubbish left at the scene had been set alight deliberately.
Four pumps, as well as a combined platform ladder, were used to bring the fire under control.
