ACCLAIMED Liverpool actor Ian Hart is the star of a new movie shot in the city to be premiered at next month’s Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The Harry Potter actor plays an absentee father in A Boy Called Dad, a dark comedy-drama filmed on location in Merseyside. Created by local producers Made Up North, it was completed at the end of April.
Hart, 44, said: “The character I play has to come to terms with what it is to be a father; complex questions are asked of him, and obstacles overcome.
“The opportunity to work on Merseyside is one I always relish, and I think this film captures some of my feelings about the area.
“Liverpool is a great city, but most people don't realise it’s also surrounded by some outstandingly beautiful countryside and beaches.”
