PETERBOROUGH’S director of football Barry Fry has confirmed he held transfer talks with the agent of out of contract Tranmere Rovers midfielder Anthony Kay.
But Fry say he does not believe the 26-year-old will be moving to London Road because of the player’s high wage demands.
The Posh are looking to strengthen after securing promotion to the Championship as League One runner-up this season and Kay, voted player of the season by Tranmere fans, is also attracting attention from Huddersfield Town.
Fry said: “Kay was a player identified by Darren Ferguson as a possible signing so I met with his agent. There would be no transfer fee involved, but we were miles apart as far as personal terms were concerned so nothing is going on there.”
