EMERGENCY crews were scrambled to hunt for two people who went missing near Southport last night.
In separate searches a woman in her 30s disappeared after telling friends she would walk from Southport to Blackpool.
The Lytham Saint Annes inshore lifeboat was sent to look for her. As of around midnight, she had still not been found.
Crews also searched for an elderly blind man who went missing after leaving his house to walk his dog.
Following 90 minutes of searching, he returned home safe and well.
Coastguard teams, police officers and the Merseyside Police helicopter joined the searches.
