MORE than 750 experts from around the world have landed in Liverpool for a major European conference.
Liverpool University is hosting a conference on management issues inspired by the city’s renaissance during its year as Capital of Culture 2008.
Conference chair Professor Terry McNulty, from the university’s management school, said: “Liverpool is the ideal location for debate about the renewal of cities and businesses.
“The city’s mercantile history, from the ‘Renaissance merchant princes’ in the 19th century, to contemporary economic change and European Capital of Culture status, symbolise the transforming qualities of management, business and enterprise.
“This conference will address leading academic research on topics such as innovation, strategy, corporate governance and entrepreneurial practice.
“Debate will also cover collaborations between academics and business practitioners and how social and spiritual values can shape 21st century organisations.”
The conference runs until Thursday.
