SIX St Helens schools have been honoured by Ofsted at an event celebrating outstanding schools across England.
Ofsted’s chief inspector, Christine Gilbert, called St Mary and St Thomas’ CE Primary, Birchley St Mary’s Catholic Primary, Legh Vale Primary, Early Years and Childcare Centre, Allanson Street Primary, St Julie’s Catholic Primary and Newton Le Willows a “beacon to others”.
Kirsty Haw, executive head at St Mary and St Thomas CE Primary , said: “The school has gone from being judged as having serious weaknesses to being outstanding in every category, an achievement we are all proud of.”
