A NEW Merseyside university building has triumphed at a surveyor’s green awards.
Edge Hill University’s Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning has been named the winner of the Royal Institute of Chartered
Surveyors' (RICS) Award for Sustainability 2009.
The state-of-the-art facility includes a live energy wall which changes colour according to the amount of energy being used.
It had strong competition from the Metro office complex at Salford Quays, Manchester, and the post-graduate Statistics Centre at Lancaster University.
David Oldham , director of capital developments at Edge Hill, said: “I consider this tremendous accolade and recognition of our efforts in providing a series of sustainable buildings within budget.
“The potential for Edge Hill to lead the higher education sector with this is clear.”
