A FORMER funeral home is set to reopen as a wine bar.
Entrepreneur Tim Bacon, the man behind The Living Room, is hopeful Wirral Council will back his new venture after an initial approval from planning officers.
Under the plan, the former Griffiths Funeral Home, at Grange Bank, Grange Road, West Kirby, will become a “community bar”. The parlour, which has been closed for over a year, underwent a major refurbishment in 2008.
The plan has so far seen two objections from residents in the nearby Riverside Court.
They have written to planners saying the town is already becoming overrun with bars and that its canopy would overcrowd the pavement.
Their objections will be heard on May 21.
