Regeneration bosses outline work timetable for Liverpool Edge Lane widening

Rob Monaghan, head of gateways at regeneration agency Liverpool Vision, said: “We would love to be in a position where we never have to do that.

“We are working hard to make sure the likes of Ms Pascoe are not left vulnerable. We are providing her with an offer at the moment.

“She has appointed an agent and we will try to deal with her case as quickly as she wants to go.”

Mr Monaghan said the development programme meant homes on the new alignment of the road would be the first to be acquired and then demolished.

They would be followed by those homes occupying space needed for the health centre, with the rest - to be replaced with houses by Bellway Homes - to come last.

Mr Monaghan said some homes might need to be acquired and demolished outside that schedule for safety reasons because they were in a precarious state.

He said if home owners wanted to sell up outside the programme there would be no problem because authorities want acquisitions completed in a “timely manner”.
